We value relevant, accurate Bible teaching, because we believe this is how God's children hear the word and will of God for their life.
This includes the concepts of teaching for Biblical faithfulness and therefore life change, and the mutual necessity of theological truth and relational love. [See Eph 4.11-16, Heb 3.12-13, James 1.22-24]
We value loving, sacrificial, grace-drenched relationships, because we believe God has saved us by his grace and through the sacrifice of his love.
This includes the concepts of accepting and welcoming people, cherishing one another, assuming and hoping for the best for each other, and warmth and courtesy in speech and conduct. [See John 15.12-17, 1 Cor 13]
We value the pursuit of full devotion to Christ and his cause, because we believe this is normal for every child of God.
This includes the concepts of continuous growth as God's children, and pro-active ministries which aim at nurturing our character, (especially a heart that is outward looking in love and prayer), strengthening our obedience, and deepening our service of God, his church and his world in all of life. [See Mark 8.34-38, Phil 3.12-16]
We value the ministry of every member of the church, because we believe that God gives each person gifts for the benefit of all of us.
This includes the concepts of knowing and using your gifts in the place that they are needed, collegiality in decision making and a particular recognition of the gift of leadership as a key to releasing the other gifts. [Rom 12.3-8, 1 Cor 12]
We value those who are strangers to the love of God, because Christ Jesus came into the world to seek and save the lost.
This includes the concept that strangers to God's love usually come to Christ through a process that takes time, which best happens in the context of a relationship, and about which we are passionate and fearless. [Luke 15, Matt 18.14, Luke 19.10]
We value small groups, because we believe this is where community is most powerfully expressed and experienced.
This includes the concepts of openness and vulnerability, appropriate accountability to one another, and strong mutual care.
We value meeting people where they are at in our church services, because we believe that church forms and traditions make powerful servants but poor masters.
This includes the concepts of diversity in styles of church services within a happily Anglican ethos and framework, and a unity that is grounded in Jesus. [Mark 7.1-13, 1 Cor 9.19-23]
We value a 'whole of life' ministry program , because we believe that people of all ages and stages should find a caring home in the church.
This includes the concepts of age-appropriate and holistic ministries which celebrate both the wisdom of years and the enthusiasm of youth, with a special focus on the challenges faced by families in our local community. [1 Tim 5.1-2, Eph 5.21-6.9]
We value excellence in our ministry, because we believe that it honours God and inspires people.
This includes the concepts of evaluation and critical review, coaching and training in ministry, intensity and involving people in service according to their giftedness. [Col 3.17, 1 Pet 4.10-11]
We value careful planning underpinned by fervent believing prayer, because we believe that unless the Lord builds the house, they that build it labour in vain.
This includes the concepts of the place of strategic planning and execution, which is only done faithfully when it is surrounded by prayer. [Ps 127.1, Col 4.2-6]
We value transparency, accountability and integrity, because we believe that that all of us need the strength that comes from being open with and to others.
This includes the concepts of honesty and openness in our money matters, applying the standards and guidelines of Faithfulness in Service (the Anglican Church's national code of conduct), and the place of loving rebuke in the Christian community. [Matt 18.15-20, 1 Tim 3.1-13]
